5ID supports DepEd’s recall of modules with false portrayal of soldiers
As a response to the ill-prepared Araling Panlipunan modules in Baguio City, which contains false portrayal of soldiers, the Department of Education in Cordillera Region has issued a strong statement condemning the materials.
Carolyn Verano, School Division Superintendent of Baguio City stated that they already recalled the materials and investigating the circumstances behind the distribution of the learning materials. She mentioned that learning modules do not conform to the social content standards prescribed by the institution. Said materials show cartoons of soldiers drinking, assaulting residents, and other ill activities.
AFP through spokesperson, MGEN EDGARD AREVALO, lauds DepED’s move to recall the modules and supports the institution’s investigation with the aim to identify and prosecute those responsible for the act.
The 5ID, which covers the Baguio City area, also expresses support for the DepED’s move to recall and subsequent investigation on the issue. It stands by the fact that misrepresentation of the soldiers in the students learning materials should not be tolerated. The Army maintains that soldiers are complying with the highest degree of competence, dignity and honor.
This also shows that left-leaning individuals supporting the terrorist group, CPP-NPA-NDF have infiltrated some of the legitimate organizations in the country.
The Army assured that they will not be shaken and will continue serving the people and securing the land.
