ICYMI | DILG: Better-quality CCTV cameras are a must for business establishments who will apply for or renew permits
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recommended the installation of high-quality closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras for business establishments that will apply for or renew permits through the Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2022-060 dated May 18, 2022.
DILG prescribes minimum specifications of security cameras as recommended by the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group. Under the latest directive, CCTV cameras should support both audio and video systems and capture high-quality and high-resolution images and videos. Each security camera should have an auto-iris focus lens, an infrared range of at least 50 meters, and storage that can store a recording for 40 days.
Business and financial establishments that have several branches in the country, medical, laboratories, and hospital facilities, and shopping malls, centers, palengke, and other related establishments are recommended to have security cameras.
