263 new cops ready to fight insurgency
DAVAO DEL SUR: Two-hundred sixty three new cops are now ready to be deployed in barangays in Davao Region “cleared†by the Philippine Army and take over its role in ensuring and maintaining security in those identified as Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAS).
These neophyte cops have completed their 6 months Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) training in a ceremony held on Wednesday at the Mindanao Police Training Camp in Barangay Kapatagan, Digos City here.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 director Brigadier General Filmore Escobal said the training aims to equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge in the insurgency operations and law enforcement activities.
They will be assigned to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion as part of the PRO 11’s Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB).
The RPSB program is anchored to President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order no. 70, or Whole of Nation Approach to End Local Armed Conflict.
These police officers will also be tasked to deliver government services in those areas.(rgp)
