PNP MOURNS DEATH OF COTABATO TOWN POLICE CHIEF

Philippine National Police Chief, PGen Archie Gamboa has ordered hot pursuit operations to neutralize the suspects in the death of the Chief of Police of Carmen Municipal Police Station yesterday, August 25, in Sitio Tawan-tawan Purok 4, Poblacion, Carmen, Cotabato Province.

The PNP Chief expressed grief and condolences to the bereaved family of Police Major Joan Resurreccion who was fatally hit by a bullet fired by a suspect during a follow-up and hot pursuit operation in a quarry site in Sitio Tawan-tawan.

“We would like to extend our condolences to the family of Police Major Resurreccion and I assure that the surviving kin that they will receive all PNP benefits due him,” Gamboa said.

In a report of Police Regional Office 12 to the PNP Chief, about 9:30AM, a shooting of a male foreign national transpired in Barangay Poblacion perpetrated by a group of armed men.

After the incident, the operatives of Carmen MPS led by Police Major Resurreccion responded and conducted a hot pursuit operation to arrest the suspects of the shooting.

PRO12 report said when the operating team reached Sitio Tawan-tawan, the armed group fired against police and unfortunately, Resurreccion succumbed after being hit by a bullet in his body. He was immediately brought to Carmen Municipal Hospital.

“This is an unfortunate day for us in the law enforcement service but their legacy as PNP’s modern day heroes will be always remembered,” Gamboa added.

The surviving kin of Resurreccion will receive P250,000.00 from the President’s Social Fund; between P141,000.00 up to P181,000.00 as Special Financial Assistance (SFA) from the PNP; burial benefits worth P50,000.00; and P200,000.00 gratuity from the National Police Commission.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
