BHWs na lumalaban kontra-COVID-19 mabibigyan na rin ng SRAs

BRGY HEALTH WORKERS ON COVID-19 DUTY NOW ELIGIBLE FOR SPECIAL RISK ALLOWANCE

On behalf of the barangay health workers now assigned to COVID-19 contact tracing, checkpoints with health screening, and temporary community quarantine care facilities, I thank President Rodrigo Duterte for his swift response to our letter by including BHWs in the grant of the special risk allowance (SRA).

The grant of the SRA through Administrative Order No. 28 is a significant acknowledgment of the critical and urgent services the currently deployed BHWs perform in this national public health emergency.

I now urge the LGU legislatures to approve the necessary ordinances or resolutions that would implement AO 28.

To be fully realized, the LGU action is needed for the appropriation of their local funds for the SRA of barangay health workers physically reporting for COVID-19 duty at hospitals and other health care facilities and performing the roles enumerated in Section 2 of AO 28.

We also await the supplemental guidelines the DBM was directed to issue to carry out AO 28. (END)

Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
