PNP, AFP ops capture high ranking official of CPP-NPA in Metro Manila
Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ------- A Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Central Committee member and the head of their National Health Bureau based in Butuan City was arrested in 008 N. Domingo Street, San Perfecto, San Juan City today, February 18.
PRO13 Regional Director POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR disclosed that Dra. Maria Natividad Silva Castro/Dra. Maria Natividad alias Yam/Agi/Kyle/Prim, 53, number seven regional level Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) priority target, was apprehended in Metro Manila with the joint operation of Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 13 together with PNP Intelligence Group, RID National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), 401st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army; 3rd Special Forces Battalion (SFB), 41 Military Intelligence Company (MICO), Joint Task Force (JTF) NCR, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) NCR, Air Corps, PA, and San Juan City Police Station.
Through serving of warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 7, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, accused Castro, a resident of Km. 3, Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City, was arrested for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention under criminal case number 6527 with no bail recommended.
Based on the investigation, the accused was involved in the felonious kidnapping of a member of Civilian Active Auxiliary (CAA), detained the victim in an unidentified location, and threatened him last December 29, 2018, in Barangay Kolambungan, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
“The arrest of Castro marks another CTG setback and to their inevitable demise. Their bloody, merciless plans have never succeeded; they have always been a failure and a disgrace to every Caraganon,” RD CARAMAT, JR said.
