AFP receives more financial assistance for victims of crashed C-130
CAMP AGUINALDO, QUEZON CITY – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Monday, July 12 received additional financial assistance allotted for the victims of the C-130 mishap in Sulu.
The AFP Vice Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Erickson Gloria accepted the donation from Congressman Eric Go Yap of ACT-CIS Partylist in a Handover Ceremony held at Silid Lapu-Lapu, here.
“This very timely financial assistance handed over today will be judiciously distributed to support the AFP personnel’s families who were victims of the tragic accident,” LtGen Gloria said on behalf of the AFP Chief of Staff General Cirilito Sobejana.
A total of PhP5,000,000.00 was granted to the victims courtesy of the Office of Congressman Yap and Office of Congressman Paolo Duterte, Representative of the 1st District of Davao. The business sector in Benguet and Davao also contributed to the said amount respectively.
Sixty percent of the financial assistance will be given to the families of 49 soldiers who perished, while the remaining 40% will be allocated for the wounded soldiers.
