CTG squad leader, medics yield in Maguindanao

Amid the relentless efforts of the Joint Task Force Central,
six more Communist Terrorist Group members laid down their arms in Maguindanao on November 6, 2020, the WestMinCom Commander said.
“The surrendered personalities were identified as Darwin Lion Buti, a.k.a. Kong, 24 years old from Sitio Elem, Salangsang, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, the Assistant Medic and Liaison of Cherry Mobile platoon under a.k.a. Jok; Aquilyn Dulunan Buti, a.k.a. An-An, 23, from Sitio Elem, Salangsang, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, the Medic of Cherry Mobile Platoon who was trained by a certain a.k.a. Toto on basic life support, minor and major operation like dressing, surgery (lymph nodes and hernia), and tooth extraction; Kenken Angkeg, a.k.a. Speed, 26, Ariel Angkeg, a.k.a. Espinosa, 26, and Eric Angkeg, a.k.a. Linggay, 48, all from Sitio Bilangas, Rifao, Upi, Maguindanao, members of Cherry Mobile Platoon under a.k.a. Alas, and served as couriers during the transport of goods and resupply; and Sonny Narciso Florencio, a.k.a. Nestor/Pitaw, Squad Leader of the 1st Squad, Dragon Fruit Platoon, Sub-Regional Command Daguma, Far South Mindanao Regional Committee, and a resident of Sitio Upper Taguisa, Barangay Taguisa, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat,†Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr. said.
“The six affirmed the resentful system of the communist terrorist group of merely propagating false ideologies to the people of Maguindanao,†Lt. Gen.Vinluan, Jr. added.
“We are tired of hiding, worn out of hunger and fatigue, and dissatisfied with the group’s ideology,†the surrendered personalities expressed.
The successful surrender was facilitated by the 6th Infantry Battalion in coordination with the LGUs of Upi, Maguindanao and Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, and the intelligence operatives.
“Subject personalities handed over one M16 rifle, one Cal .30, one Cal .30 Garand rifle, two M79 Gl, one Cal .45 Pistol, two short magazines for an M16 rifle with 14 rounds of ammunition, one magazine for Cal .45 Pistol with six rounds of ammunition, one magazine for Cal .30 with five rounds of ammunition, and two rounds of 40mm HE at the 6IB headquarters in Mirab, Upi, Maguindanao,†said Col. Eduardo Gubat, 603rd Infantry Brigade Commander.
The six were presented to JTF Central Commander Maj. Gen, Juvymax Uy during his visit to the 6IB headquarters at 11:00 on the morning of the same day.
Addressing the surrendered personalities, Maj. Gen. Uy said, “We welcome you back to the real world and we assure you that we will guide you to start a new life with your respective familiesâ€.
The surrendered firearms and ammunition were deposited at H6IB for safekeeping.
“It is good that the members of the communist terrorist group realized the true nature of their group’s intentions,†said Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.
“We would like to encourage the others who are still hiding to join their comrades who already returned to the fold of the law,†the commander added.
