Former rebels surrender concealed weapons to 46IB
The Philippine Army' 46th Infantry Battalion (46IB) under the 8th Infantry “Storm Trooper” Division received the concealed weapons hidden by the former NPA members on March 26, 2022 at Villareal, Samar.
Through the cooperation of former NPA leader Alyas Dori and the community residents, the operating troops from the 46IB successfully located and seized twenty-seven M16A1 rifles, two M653 rifles, an M14 rifle, and other personal belongings.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., commended the troops of the 46IB for their immediate action to retrieve the weapons hidden in their area of responsibility. He also urged the battalion to continue their cooperation with the surrenderers in locating hidden paraphernalia that may threaten the security of the communities.
