You have to stop me, Lim tells his critics. You have to stop me from doing what is best for Tagbilaran.           

This was the message issued by Mayor Dan Lim to his critics who have resorted to a signature campaign in a bid to stop the P50-million earmarked for the rehabilitation of city roads.           

 "If you think I will give in to orchestrated pressure, think again," Lim said in a message address to his critics.           

The mayor has maintained that the opposition to the loan is orchestrated by his political rivals in a bid to score a psychological victory if the project will not push through.           

 "I do what I believe is right – even if it is unpopular and even if it costs me my reelection," the outspoken mayor declared.           

He recalled that some of the major programs of his administration encountered rough sailing from his critics.           

 "My critics wanted to stop our support for education first by saying not all received the freebies and then by saying they did not fit right, but that didn't stop me from pursuing this project," he added.           

The mayor also recalled that his opponents tried to undermine the Blue Card project by refusing to distribute the cards in the barangays where the barangay captains were identified with the opposition and then claiming that there was favoritism.           

 "They told the people that we chose the beneficiaries when the real story was that they did not distribute the cards and used the issue of favoritism in the 2007 elections," he added.           

Lim also recalled that the minority bloc tried to discredit the Libreng Tambal sa Katawhan project by asking government agencies to close it and writing to sponsors to stop sending donations.           

Again, the mayor said he refused to buckle under pressure.           

 "The garbage disposal scheme, the two-stroke ban and the Senior Citizens benefits all came under fire from the biased media but I held my ground," he added.           

Lim said the issue boils down to whether the people want the dilapidated city roads to be rehabilitated or not.           

 "Let us make that an election issue. If they think it is wrong to repair the roads, then let them vote for Team Vaniderm. But if they want the roads to be fixed as early as possible, then rally behind me," he added.           

The mayor said he is in a damn-if-you-do, damn-if-you-don't situation. "If the roads are fixed, they say I made money, if they remain in bad state, they say I am useless," he added.           

The mayor said he would rather fix the road and leave his critics to their own conclusions than be hostage to public opinion.           

 "You cannot please everybody. I would rather please those who want progress than those who want to see me lose the election," he added.           

Lim said he would rather be unpopular and be proven right later on than give in to popular opinion and regret it later.           

 "Let history judge my actions," he concluded.

hmmm dili na mahitabo nga in case mudaog si Chatto sa pagka governor and then rene relampagos sa 1st district sa pagka congressman...Im not sure, i guess dili na mahitabo bai BNC nga mag swapping sila kay ang mahitabo kung ganahan si Rene relampagos sa pagka congressman sa 1st dist. nga 14 ka lungsod sa 1st dist ray atimanon kontra 49 ka town including tagb. city mas labad ang governor plus way kwarta nga makorekot kay way pork barrel nga ang congressman ray magdumala..walay vice gov manghilabot ,walay SP manghilabot walay governor manghilabot...sa congressman nga pork barrel solo flight sa congressman... granted dili muhawa si rene sa pagka congressman kay makurat sa kwarta sa pork barrel sama ni tongressman cajes nakurat mao dili muhawa sa position sa 2nd dist kay maputol iyang mga pangwarta...muhawa kaha si rene relampagos human nga maka suway sa kwarta sa pork barrel. >> Tan awa lang si Cajes??? bai nast dili ka nako patulan kay ngano? bsag unsaon makita man nimo unsay agi ni EBA sa Bohol...ang uban diha nahuman nalang ug 3 terms sa pagka congressman..small time ray nahimo...igo lang pasiguan ilang pork barrel sa ilang project...Makahibaw man ka kinsay naningkamot ug nag lihok ..workaholic nga motrabajo para sa kalambuan ug development sa Bohol...Pero dili nalang ko daghan storya kay mga tawo mismo kabalo niana my friend...

I have opinion as an outsider looking from the inside of everything going on here.....

*Vote for someone who is calm in stressful situations.

*Vote for someone who has a very approachable public side to him.

*Vote for someone who is involved with plenty of charity works from his own pocket's in helping out poor Boholanos.

*Vote for those who do not blame their problems on others.

*Vote on those with fewer bodyguards to me mean it means that the one being protected by many bodyguards has made a lot of people mad in wrong doings against others.

*Vote for those who are willing to see enterprises spring up regardless of biases. Keep in mind less business means fewer jobs and less money and livelihood in the area.

*Vote for a candidate not from out of desperation of wanting to be given money for votes. Vote from the brain and the heart for pleasant and more reasonable and rationale candidate to help make the Philippines a more better place to be in.

*Vote for a candidate that does not put others down as a public leader.

*Vote smart and live smart......GOOD LUCK!!!

naa sad kay point arki pero sa gikaingon ko na nga naa jud silay hidden agenda. kay kana lang daang pagpili kang rene nga dili kapartido over salinas kay wala dawata ni julius ang tanyag pagka congressman usa na daan ka elemento bahin niini. usa pa, nakaagi na si rene pagka governor sa bohol ug maingon tang mas comfortable siya didto kaysa congress. and that goes the same to eddie chatto.

mao sad na ang nakapaaghat nako ug comment nga nindot unya ang bugnong lugaynon pohon kung si dan lim na batok eddie chatto unya ang sa house of representatives. kay kining si dan lim staunch critic jud baya ni eddie dating back to the 2007 election when eddie was vying for his 3rd term against former governor dela serna. so huwat lang ta kung mahitabo ni.
