Would you fully implement the Tourism Act of 2009
« on: January 24, 2010, 10:58:40 PM »
Would you fully implement the Tourism Act of 2009 or would you first address the socials ills related to tourism?

AQUINO
“Tourism is one of the growth areas that should be supported with an open skies policy. There should also be change in the attitude of the people so that we don’t drive investors away from the country.”

ESTRADA
“Basically the root cause is peace and order. How can you attract tourists if there is no peace and order?”

GORDON
“Promote, protect, and profit…We must promote and protect our country because we are proud of it and it can generate profit from tourism.”

TEODORO
“I don’t see any inconsistency in the full implementation of the Tourism Act and sustainable development. We should invest on infrastructure for tourism, such as the airport. But what’s important is the public image of the Philippines as a tourism destination. No one would make a distinction between Cebu, Basilan and Sulu, for them it’s still the same Philippines. We must invest resources to sell our country abroad, like Malaysia does. Sell our country to tourists and make tourists comfortable.”

VILLANUEVA
Yes to full implementation. “See to the peace and order in the country to attract tourists and investors, and fully develop the natural ambience of the country in order to make the Philippines a tourist spot.”

VILLAR
“All the departments must work together, not just the Department of Tourism, on promoting tourism in the country.”

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
