Witnesses and video recording are to be used in a disqualification case soon to be filed against Lakas party vice gubernatorial candidate Board member Concepcion Lim.
Perla Adecer Cajilog, a registered nurse and chairperson of Brgy. Canmanico, Valencia Eradicate TB Task Force said: “I am willing to testify in any court to the veracity the incident wherein posters of Nacionlsuta gubernatorial candidate Julius Herrera were removed by Lim’s men.â€
Aside from this, Cajilog claimed that the lighting of the rally was put off by Lim’s order. A barangay tanod identified as Fulgencio Tapitan approached and told her apologetically “Kagawad, sori kay ipapawong na ang suga guisugo ra ko ni Board.â€
She said she had also proceeded to the police station to make the incident recorded.
Lim is the barangay captain of Canmanico and provincial federated president of the Liga ng mga Barangay. She was reportedly irked upon knowing that the Nacionalista Party will hold a rally at barangay Canmanico last April 19, 2010. The barangay is said to be the bailiwick of the Lim’s dynasty.
Lim, who is running for vice-governor under Lakas party, allegedly caused the removal of campaign materials of Vice-Gov. Julius Herrera, who is gunning for governor under the NP even before the rally took place.
An unidentified man believed to be Lim’s security who was in uniform went on to remove the posters just put up in the afternoon of April 19, 2010.
People attending the rally loudly howled “No†when the lights were put off allegedly upon the instruction of BM Lim.
Cajilog said that what Lim has done “was a violation under section 18 (b), Comelec Resolution, which provides that: “any party holding a political rally may put up banners/posters 3 X8 in size 5 days before and can be removed within 24 hours after the rally.â€
She said that “I am reporting this incident with my free will†because the political rally is within the bounds of the law, particularly in posting campaign materials in the place where the rally is to be held.
Nobody could tell what caused the fury of Lim to detach Herrera’s posters and campaign materials when they were put up since it was the poster area, said Cajilog in her letter dated April 21, 2010 to the Office of the vice-governor. Cajilog furnished copies of her letter to the police here and Comelec both in her town and in the provincial office in Tagbilaran City. - The Bohol Standard
