Singer Victor Wood, best known for his hit singles and smooth crooning in the 70's, filed his certificate of candidacy for senator at the Commission on Elections on Friday.
Wood, 66, said he will fight hunger and poverty when given a chance to become a senator.
The singer, running independently, added that he will not only grant housing spaces for those without permanent shelter but will provide them with jobs as well.
Wood, who arrived at the registration booth wearing his signature trilby hat, also ran for senator in the 2007 elections but failed to land a seat.
