Following the footstep of his mother who once ruled the same organization, V-Mayor Mayor Efren Chatto of Balilihan was the unanimous pick to head the vice mayors league in an election held Thursday at the Soledad Suites.
His mother, former vice mayor Victoria Chatto, was president of the league when she was still active in politics.
The incumbent Balilihan vice mayor is the elder brother of Gov. Edgar Chatto.
A cut flower magnate before joining politics, the elder Chatto was based in Baguio before returning home to run for vice mayor.
Some 43 vice mayors attended the election.
Maribojoc V-Mayor Fructoso Redulla, Jr. who was Comelec chair proclaimed the election winner.
Other league officers elected were: Loon Vice Mayor Edwin Ladeza, executive vice president; Corella V-Mayor Vito Rapal, vice president, first district; Danao V-Mayor Jose Cepedoza, vice president, second district; Batuan V-Mayor Antonino Jumawid, vice president, third district.
Baclayon V-Mayor Josel Theodore Cabajug was elected secretary- general while San Isidro V-Mayor Eudoxio Asoy, was the asst. secretary.
V-Mayor Francisco Gonzales was elected auditor while Calape V-Mayor Nelson Yu and Panglao V-Mayor Evangeline Bon-Lazaro, PRO, first district; CPG V-Mayor Nestor Abad and Buenavista V-Mayor Ronald Lowell Tirol, PRO, second district; and Loboc V-Mayor Luisito Digal and Lila V-Mayor Frederick Raut, PRO, third district.
The board of directors is composed of Tubigon V-Mayor Virgilio Fortich, Antequera V-Mayor Lilioso Nunag, San Miguel V-Mayor Jonathan Reyes, V-Mayor Petronilo Justinine, Mabini V-Mayor Stephen Rances and Candijay V-Mayor Rey Amora.
