Under the spirited and dedicated leadership of Secretary Art Tugade, we at the Department of Transportation (DOTr) relentlessly seek ways to enhance and significantly improve our public transportation system all over the country.
And with only 401 days left in the term of office of the Duterte administration, we are resolved to push onwards and continue our drive of providing comfort and convenience to the riding public, notwithstanding the prevailing health crisis we are in.
Amid the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic, various transport infrastructure projects, programs, and projects, may it be by land, sea, or air, continue to roll-out, and are being fast-tracked.
An example of these initiatives is the highly-anticipated Davao High Priority Bus System (HPBS)—which aims to provide the Dabaweños with a state-of-the-art, efficient, safe, and relible public transport system that can vastly contribute to the growth of the local economy by improving mobility of the people.
In a bid to accelerate the bus system’s implementation, DOTr Assistant Secretary for Project Implementation-Mindanao Cluster, Eymard Eje met with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to discuss the updates on the project.
Support from the LGU is very critical in the success of our endeavor, and the assurance and full cooperation of the likes of Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio provides us the needed boost to achieve our project deadline, and ensure operability in the soonest possible time.
With another day less, we are covering all bases, and keeping the momentum of our "BUILD, BUILD, BUILD" initiative across regions. Inspired by the work ethic and ethos of Sec Art Tugade, we remain committed and unwavering in getting the job done in the time that we have left.
Because we owe it to the Filipino people to give them the best public service they rightfully deserve.
