To Be or Not to Be?
By: Gener Marcelo

With all sort of problems the human race is facing; disasters, calamities, economic turmoil, hunger, poverty, unemployment, crime, corruption, will there be good things left for us to expect?

In a dog-eats-dog situation, a hungry man will offer even his soul just to survive; a hard reality of life. As the events slowly unfolding right in our very eyes, seeing people pushed to their extremes where stronger ones preying on the weak even their own kind, this environment that we live is no different to a jungle. Survival only reserved to the fittest and those unfit will be eliminated.
Probably most of us will normally ask that If we only had a government that is honest and true to its mandate, or a leader who at the very least was as entrepreneurial and progressive as some of other country's leaders, wouldn't you feel a tad more hopeful about our future and more willing to help make things work? But probably the most important question you should ask yourself is this, “What if they are not?”

In dire times, procrastination could lead us to nowhere. If we stop saying "if's" and "buts’" at the very least and start doing what we think is good as part of our share to the overall solution, wouldn’t it change the situation for the better? If something you expect never happened and the people you relied on failed to deliver, the situation will never change as well unless you do or take part in something that will effect change. No amount of whining and griping can solve any problem unless a solution is considered. Besides procrastination can never bring food on your table, so does your whining.

To be part of the solution or the problem is a decision to make. Your future depends on your action today. In harder times, continuous dependency for others action could always be a bitter pill to swallow but why would you swallow this bitter pill if there’s other way of doing it?

What you think and what you do is what you will become, that is your life’s predisposition. Either you remain as part of the problem at hand or be ready to offer or do what you think will contribute to the solution is a decision that you alone can make.

You could swear, curse the fates, but when it comes to the end, you have to let go.  And for what it's worth: it's never too late.  There's no time limit, stop whenever we want and have the strength to start all over again.  B.B.
