At the closing hours of the filing of certificates of candidacies (COC) for aspirants of the provincial Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) yesterday, it turned out to be a three-cornered battle for the league's presidency.
Incumbent ABC president Dr. Romulo Cepedoza, barangay chair of Poblacion, Danao, submitted his COC at 2 p.m. yesterday, barely 3 hours before the deadline for filing of COCs.
This was a surprising turn of events as Cepedoza was earlier reported to have agreed to withdraw his bid in favor of former provincial board member and Valencia ABC head Concepcion Lim.
Lim, said to have the support of Gov. Erico Aumentado, reportedly negotiated for Cepedoza to run as her executive vice president.
Another contender for the provincial ABC chair is Panglao's Cirino Hormachuelos. --
