TESDA hails outstanding tech-voc trainers in Tagsanay Award 2015

MANILA, Jan. 7 (PNA) -- A Senior TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development) specialist based in Cagayan province who has devoted his talent in the service for the last 24 years was adjudged the overall winner in the revival of a prestigious award given to the country’s trainers who have displayed exemplary performance in educating through technical vocational education and training (TVET).

Rogelio Rambuyan of TESDA Regional Training Center – Tuguegarao topped the list of awardees in the Tagsanay Award 2015 spearheaded by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Junjon Santuyo, Senior TESD Specialist of TESDA Regional Training Center - Mariveles, Bataan was first runner-up; Michael Patan-ao, Administrator of the Bridges Multi Skills Training Center in Leyte was second runner-up; and Nestor Pascual, Associate Professor III of the Marcos Agro Industrial School in Ilocos Norte was third runner-up.

“We hail the vigor and hard work poured in by our trainers all over the country. We give special recognition and incentives to a number of them for exceeding the set requirements for TVET trainers and demonstrating competencies beyond expectations”, TESDA Director General Irene Isaac said.

The award was an offshoot of the commemoration of the World Teachers’ Day last October 2015. TESDA, as a UNEVOC (International Centre for Technical Vocational Education and Training) Center in the Philippines, joined UNESCO and the rest of the world in commemoration of the World Teachers’ Day and enjoined public and private technical vocational institutions to celebrate the event.

The Tagsanay Award has its beginnings in 2008, as TESDA envisioned to give recognition to the importance and contributions of the personnel of technical vocational institutions nationwide.

Secretary Isaac said that the criteria for this year’s Tagsanay Award were based on the Metrobank Foundation Inc.’s Best Teachers Award, in preparation for the possible revival of the TVET Trainers Category in the foundation’s annual recognition.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
