« on: August 02, 2014, 07:35:22 AM »

Industry Structure

The downstream oil industry activities include: a) importation of crude oil; b) processing and storing of intermediate and refined products at the refineries; c) product distribution to different bulk plants/depots through tankers/barges for Petron and new players and the Batangas-Manila pipeline for Caltex and Shell; and d) delivery of refined / finished products through tank trucks from the depots to the retail outlets and industrial consumers. In the case of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the product is transported in specialized bulk tankers/lorries to refilling plant where LPG is filled into cylinders and delivered to dealers/retail outlets for household/commercial use.
