So Young, So Corrupt?
« on: September 09, 2007, 08:52:52 PM »
Reports from Bohol reaching Tubag Bohol are disturbing.

Former Governor Rene Relampagos now has all the crystal clear evidence (on records) that he was and he is a victim of "dagdag-bawas" (election cheating) in Bohol's third district congressional race last May 2007.

If Relampagos's claims were true, then who was behind the dagdag-bawas?

Was the father of 27-year-old Rep. Adam Jala, former Congressman Eladio Jala, behind the election deception? That is if it were true?

Or was the inexperienced 27-year-old boy, who spent most of his life in Manila and now congressman in the illustrious province of Bohol, behind the election manipulation? That is if Relampagos's allegations were true?

If it were true, isn't that disturbing to your minds and hearts? So young, so corrupt. Hope it were not true.

of course it was a powerful hand or hands behind, of course the father had been involved, of course there was lots of money.  it was a conspiracy.  and the evidences tell us they are true.  why would we blame the politician alone?  what about the people of Bohol who allowed these things to happen?  The election officers who allowed themselves to be used? and the voters who sold their votes?

I wonder ... when is the next election of any kind in Bohol?

Could we in Tubag Bohol, perhaps, launch an "Educational Campaign" to effectively "thwart" vote-buying ... make it "outdated" in Bohol?  How do we go about designing a strategy of what and how to "RE-EDUCATE" our people?

I still think that if these masses are really itching for the Candidates' money and we just cannot stop them from accepting the "Bribe", they can be taught to accept but NOT deliver? They are not obliged to make good of an agreement or contract that is "illegal" --- "ab initio" (meaning illegal and immoral from the start / beginning) as the the said contract is NOT BINDING?

The way our electoral system is designed, is there a way for a vote-buying candidate to "CHECK" and "VERIFY" if those accepting their money have really made good of the implied bargain?

One would NOT know whose vote was it, when the votes are read or being tallied?  Except maybe for the penmanship?  I mean ... wala may pirma sa voting sheet mismo?

(Di ba --- Dili man mahibaw-an kung kang kinsang buto ang ginabasa ug gi tally?)

Mga legal minds diha ... comments pod please?

There must be a way to stop this "vote-buying" practice just so one could land in public office!!!  A slogan perhaps to the effect that:

Kandidatong mopalit sa buto, dako nga mangingilad ug CERTIFIED:  k******n!  Ayaw gyod saligi sa imong kinabuhi!!!  Pagmata, Bol-anon!  Ayaw pailad!
