Candidates for the coming barangay and sangguniang kabataan (SK) elections started filing their certificates of candidacies (COC) yesterday amid moves in the Senate to postpone the polls to May 2008.
As of yesterday, one candidate for barangay captain and four for barangay kagawad submitted their COC at the City Comelec.
Those aspiring for barangay and SK posts have until October 18 to file their COCs.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Benjie Oliva of the National Youth Commission bared in an interview over dyRD’s “Pulso†last Friday that he was among those consulted by the Senate committee on suffrage and electoral reforms chaired by Sen. Richard Gordon regarding the rescheduling of the polls.
