Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri Remembers Bohol
« on: August 11, 2009, 01:24:30 PM »
SENATOR Juan Miguel Zubiri of Bukidnon province, recently came here for a whirlwind visit, including seven other towns, Thursday and Friday last week, to conduct an ocular inspection on the projects funded through his discretionary fund at half a million pesos each.

Zubiri, who was accompanied by his chief of staff and Provincial Board Member Josephine Socorro Jumamoy and her daughter councilor Jaja Jumamoy, sees to it that the money released to local government units were implemented accordingly.

So, he personally made an inspection.

He told the audience in every town that he learned lessons in releasing the money, citing an experience with a certain mayor in other place, who he did not identified, used the fund to buy a tiger and its cage instead of spending it for development projects.

The senator arrived here safely even as he promised to come to the pre-arranged visit despite the unfavorable weather since he came from Iloilo and Guimaras, taking a private plane on his way into the province.

He made true his commitment after the 2007 elections to grant each town of Bohol P1 million each.

The half million pesos for each municipality is just the initial, he said. The other half a million pesos will follow as soon as the Department of Budget and Management is ready to allotment advise, he said.

He placed second in Bohol in the senatorial derby in 2007 presidential polls.

He met with Mayor Wilson Pajo of Pilar, where he was welcomed by town and school officials and hundreds of students of Pilar Technolgical School .

Zubiri was literally mobbed by the students and teachers alike as if they saw a movie celebrity and took advantage to have a photo shots with the senator.

Mayor Pajo said in an interview that the half a million pesos is intended for the fencing of the school premises project. Pajo expressed gratitude to the senator for the fund assistance.

Zubiri also was welcomed by Mayor Simplicio Maestrado of Sierra-Bullones, wherein he made a round of inspection of the almost complete rehabilitation of the municipal hall where Maestrado spent the money.

In Carmen town, he also met with officials even without Mayor Boy Molina and presided over the soft launching of the training center edifice. He also promised to release the ther half a million pesos funding assistance to complete the building located in the opposite side of the Catholic Church of the town.

He was also into the towns of Garcia-Hernandez, Valencia , Dimiao, Lila and Loay, where he was received and welcomed by the officials concerned. (RVO)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
