Close this MANILA, Philippines—The Liberal Party (LP) may have been allowed to keep its celebrity endorsers but it lost one of its star candidates for a congressional seat in Leyte.

Actor Richard Gomez, who was sworn in as LP member in November last year, was disqualified by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from running in the fourth district of the province for lack of residency.

Gomez became the latest LP member to suffer defeat in the hands of the Comelec. Earlier, the poll body nullified the 2007 election victories of three governors who are LP members—Grace Padaca of Isabela, Eddie Panlilio of Pampanga and Joselito Mendoza of Bulacan...........

He should be disqualified. In fact Arthur Yap of Bohol should also be disqualified. He never lives in Bohol, anyway. Richard Gomez never lives in Ormoc.

Aw sure money na gud na. Ang kwartang gihisgutan nato ani milyones jud dili tag piso2x ;D :D ;D

      The comelec should also study this. It's not the question whether kabalo sila magbinisaya or not. Ang question ani ang residency nila. Off and on si Montano pro kulang sad ang one year nya dri. Di man na maingon nato nga resident sad siya if off and on, bakasyon-bakasyon lang pro wa jud nagpuyo dri. Naa man silai kwarta madto mari Tagb-Mla-Tagb. Pro mas bintaha na lang sad siya kay ni Yap. Karon pa man ni siya sige nakita dri sa Bohol nga hapit na milansad. Parehas ra gud pud ni Gomez, off and on ra sad sa Ormoc. CALLING THE COMELEC....Syaman ning residency aning YAP and MONTANO. Yaw initi si GOMEZ. ::)
