Rene Relampagos Leads Survey for Bohol First District
« on: January 24, 2010, 10:08:36 PM »
Bohol Chronicle: Former Gov. Rene Relampagos emerged as the more favored successor of Rep. Edgar Chatto in the first congressional district.

Running under the administration Lakas-Kampi-CMD, the former governor topped the survey conducted by the top-rated weekly program "Radyo Merkado" over dyRD yesterday.
RELAMPAGOS

Relampagos pooled 47% while city kagawad Oscar Glovasa registered 32.4% and City Kagawad Edgar Kapirig with 20.6%

Those who favored Relampagos said that his tested performance as a governor of Bohol "very well qualifies him to become a member of the House of Representatives."

There were mixed comments on the issue of the joint venture deal of the light and water services of the province during his incumbency.

Those who voted for Relampagos said both basic services made remarkable improvements soon after the takeover of the Salcon backed Bohol Water Utilies Inc. and the Bohol Light Co., Inc. Respondents who voiced rejection on Relmapagos' bid said the former governor should not be given a mandate as he sold the income generating projects of the provincial governance.

Relampagos in an earlier interview said the present state of the water and light services in the city is a manifestation of a "sound decision" when the provincial government decided to embark on the joint venture agreement with Salcon.

"Water and light services were never the same again," the former governor stressed.
