whew!  one of the best reads i came across about the making of this new monster of a law.  it shows how sloppy our legislators are on their jobs.  raissa robles is so analytical.  glad she's a lawyer and a blogger to boot (aside from being a foreign correspondent of the hongkong-based south china morning post).  she knows what she speaks of.
Republic Act 8485 (Animal Welfare Act of 1998, Philippines), as amended and strengthened by House  Bill 6893 of 2013--- violation means a maximum of P250,000 fine with a corresponding three-year jail term and a minimum of P30,000 fine and six months imprisonment
