Arroyo glories in praises from Obama

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Thursday (Friday in Manila) basked in the praises heaped by President Barack Obama, who cited her efforts in counter-terrorism, achieving peace in Mindanao, her pro-American stand on human rights violations in Burma and against the proliferation of nuclear power in the region.

The world’s most powerful leader also cited the significance of the Philippines in the global arena as he described it as a small country that “punches beyond its weight.’’

In a joint news conference at the Oval Office shortly after their 30-minute meeting, Obama said: ``We are very pleased that President Arroyo has made such good progress with counter-terrorism issues. She has initiated a peace process in Mindanao which we think has the potential to bring stability in a part of Philipines that has been wracked by unrest for too long.’’

Obama also said his government was “very grateful for the strong voice the Philippines has provided in dealing with issues in Asia ranging from human rights violations that too long existed in Burma and problems in respect to problems of nuclear proflieration in North Korea.’’

Obama also expressed his appreciation to the Philippines ``for the outstanding contributions that Philippines has made with respect to UN peacekeeping around the world.’’

“Although the Philippines is not the largest of countries, and using a phrase from boxing, it punches above its weight,’’ said Obama.

I will not deny, President Barack Obama, The President and Symbol of State of the United States of America, the World's Hyper Power, literally the Strongest Man in The World, is a great orator.

He is a great speaker, very firm, and confident man.

I am a Republican, politically. But I have high respect and regards for Obama. I even voted for Obama, as I agreed with much of his policies. I do agree that this Great Nation deserves a Nationalized Health Care. :) To provide total coverage.

Obama's Presidency, I hope, will bring great honor and good graces to the Philippines.
I want a greater Manila-Washington cooperation.
More financial aid to the Philippines.
More economic relations with the Philippines.

Arroyo's good impression on Obama---can effectively increase medical importation from the Philippines :)

A single word from Obama, could influence the Department of Health and Security of the United States to increase importation of Filipino nurses, doctors, pts, ots etc~
To re-open the doors of the Filipino Medical Machine. :) hehehe

America, has alot to offer to the Philippines.
And at that, The Philippines has ALOT to offer the United States.

GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN AND PHILIPPINE EAGLES!
To Our Continued Eternal Alliance and Brotherhood!

President Arroyo also spoke in the oval office at the white house and said Obama  was a very warm and cordial president and that she was happy the two were talking about things that are important regarding USA's help on terrorism and she wants USA to stand behind her plans against terrorism in Mindanao and other parts of the country.

He did say the country was small and he did say Philippines makes it bigger on the map with boxing as it has punching power!
