As a sports enthusiast, it is my dream to have a state-of-the-art sports facility with an oval track, tennis court, and basketball court for our athletes and all sports fanatic in the city.
Five (5) years of patiently waiting and here we are today, finally making it through the first step of that dream project through this Groundbreaking Ceremony of the PAGCOR-Funded Sports Facilities today, March 18, 2022. The soon-to-rise Maasin City Sports Complex will make us realize that dream. But this could not be possible if not because of the support extended to us by President Rodrigo Duterte, Office of Senator Bong Go, and PAGCOR, through PAGCOR Chairman Andrea Domingo with its representatives - VP Ramon Villaflor (CSR Group) and Acting Asst. VP Eric Balcos (Community Relations & Services Department).
I could not thank you enough for this generous grant given to the City of Maasin and I’m looking forward to this forged partnership. When complete, this Sports Complex will be the premier, multi-purpose and recreational facility in the City of Maasin and the first in the Province of Southern Leyte.
