Published by the Bohol StandardOn his first term in the provincial board, Ramonito “Monching†Torrefranca, posted a remarkable performance of having sponsored and approved a total number of 56 resolutions, topping all the records of his equally neophytes colleagues in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Torrefranca chairs the Committee on Culture, Arts, NGOs and Civil Society. He is also a co-chair for the Committee on Ways and Means.
In a report submitted by SP Secretary Bonifacio M. Quirog, records show that the Philippine Councilors League-Bohol Chapter president posted an almost perfect attendance in the 24 session days of the SP’s first six-months in office. He had 19 attendances; two on official business and just one absence.
In should be noted that Torrefranca only assumed office on August 16, 2010 after his election as PCL president.
Topping the list of the most number of sponsored-approved resolutions is third district board member Dionisio D. Balite with 151 and first district board member Ceasar Tomas “Yul†Lopez with 55, followed y second district board member Josephine Socorro “Roygie†Jumamoy with 37.
Board Member Torrefranca traced his roots to a breed of politicians from Carmen, Bohol. He rose from his rank serving as Municipal Councilor, and then become Vice Mayor of Carmen, a world-renowned tourism destination.
The trust that his people gave to him inspired him so well to widen his service to the rest of the Boholano constituencies now as provincial board member. His election into the top post of the PCL-Bohol was just a key to this dream.
BM Torrefranca, a businessman, is a model of hard work and entrepreneurial drive. His entry in government to imbibe change in every people’s lives entails patience and lots of philosophical details that he learned from business.
