Press Release: Ormoc City Mayor Richard I. Gomez had a meeting recently with OIC-ENRO Forester Rosilyn C. Sanchez, together with the Mineral and Land Management Section Technical Staff, City Administrator Vince Emnas, SP Member Goito Yrastorza lll, SP Member Bennet Pongos, Atty. Joy Romero of City Legal Office, and the two applicants for the disposal of sand and gravel materials.
The matter under discussion pertains to the status of processing of requirements for the disposal of SAG materials from permittees who have already paid the assessed mining extraction fees by ENRO.
Accordingly, permittees who have paid the extraction fees shall be allowed to dispose of such materials with a permit duly issued by the City Mayor.
In addition, all other industrial sand and gravel concessionaires' mining extraction fees were also discussed.
It was agreed that they would be allowed to pay the fees in installments and to comply with the city's requirements prior to the disposal of SAG materials.
After receiving the approval of permit to dispose, ISAG permittees in Ormoc City may now dispose such materials outside Ormoc City but for government projects only.
All requirements for the application of quarry material export outside of Ormoc City must first be coordinated with the Environment and Natural Resources Office.
The two applicants for the disposal of sand and gravel materials that were present during the aforesaid meeting were Ma. Adelfa Tan (with former extraction area at Panali-an River, Brgys. Macabug and Ipil) and Joann Torres, represented by Ramonette Joy Pongos-Landrain, (with former extraction area at Panali-an River, Brgy. Sumangga).
