News Release: Ormoc City Mayor Richard I. Gomez, together with City Administrator Vincent Emnas, Atty. Joy Romero of the City Legal Office (CLO), and Farica Cutas of Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) paid a visit to the Ormoc City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) today, April 27.
CDRRMO head Ciriaco Tolibao presented the 2021 Office Report, which included their personnel component, Policies and Plans, Interoperability, Simulation Exercise, Training, IEC Campaigns, and Emergency-Disaster Operations.
Employees of the aforementioned office also raised their concerns, and Mayor Gomez and Emnas responded appropriately.
Mayor Gomez, from his end, directed the staff that all supplies and materials be inventoried, and that records be kept in order and up to date.
He told the employees that we never know when a disaster will strike, so we must always be prepared, which is why we have so many webinars.
"In terms of disaster we really have to rely on you and so I want everybody to be ready at all times. Your knowledge is needed in this work. Attend any webinars to enhance your skills and knowledge," he added.
Mayor Gomez straightforwardly said that he wants the CDRRMO to win the 'Kalasag Award’ because that is one of the highest awards that an LGU can receive.
Tolibao responded that they have already submitted the requirements to the regional office, and that once approved, they would forward them to the national office.
