The Bohol ChronicleTricycle drivers and operators here in the city are given immediate relief of the weekly increases in the price of fuel as city lawmakers yesterday granted a P1 increase on the minimum fare.
City councilor Atty. Nerio Zamora II, chair of the SP committee on public utilities, sponsored a resolution during yesterday's Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) regular session which granted provisional authority for cab drivers and operators to collect an additional P1 on the basic fare rate.
From the minimum fare of P6, drivers can now collect P7 with the usual charges on the succeeding kilometres as mandated under the existing Tricycle Fare and Transportation Code of the city.
"This is just a provisional authority granted to our tricycle drivers and operators as our response to the soaring prices of gasoline," Zamora clarified of the resolution which was adopted en masse by the SP.
