Opened in Tokyo Bay’s Takeshiba area in 2020 through public-private partnerships, Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba is a sprawling business, dining, shopping and living complex that aims to preserve Japan’s biodiversity. Its Skip Terrace, an approximately 6,600㎡ step-like open area from the 2nd floor to the 6th floor, teems with greenery; it features beekeeping and rice fields, herb and vegetable gardens, and more. These green city spaces promote relaxation and interaction, environmental education, and urban #sustainability.
