People's organization tells opposition: Wait for elections

Catbalogan, Samar (30 August 2005) -- Member so of the Katatapuran ng Pederasyon han Parag-uma han Samar (KAPPAS) believe that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo can hurdle all the negative intrigues of her presidency and bounce back like the resilient economy.

Danilo Miralles, Chairman of the people's organization maintained his stand that due process should be observed whether we want to change any aspect of the government. As such he suggests that the public should stay calm and wait for the impeachment process to start. However, he said that the political turmoil in Manila should not stop the people in the rural areas like them to tend to their humble livelihood.

Miralles further noted that Samareños are patient people and still harbor faith in our dramatic institutions.

Dolores Nadonza, another member of the 300-strong people's group in Paranas, Samar said that the President was elected by the people; that whoever wants a change in leadership has to wait for elections and vote for whoever they think is best.

That is why, Nadonza said that an ample time is given for election activities because this is the time to ponder for one's choice and one has to think hard and long for that choice. Once we have chosen our leaders, it is not easy to replace them with just the wiles of anarchists. She offered her humble suggestion of asking the critiques to join forces with the government to start bigger achievements can be attained and that the poor can benefit.

Meanwhile, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye commented that the resiliency of the economy shows the resiliency of the Filipino, whether tending to farm or stall in the Philippines or earning for the family abroad.

He firmly acknowledged the fact that, "we are a nation and a people that can not be put down by political bickering and turmoil."

"We bolster democracy by our success in free enterprise and biting the bullet when crisis looms," added Bunye. He further stated that, "we are a heroic people who can prevail against all odds by our solidarity and ability to make the best out of any situation."

Finally, the press secretary summarized his statement by saying, "this country will kve forward under a regime of good government, fiscal responsibility, grassroots enterprise and the rule of law." (PIA-Samar)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
