News Release: Through the Regional Welfare and Development Division and in collaboration with the Community Relations Service Section, regional office personnel spearheaded by JSUPT ROSALINA P MALAHAY, RCDS conducted a NACOCOW Forum at the University of Cebu, Banilad Campus during the second day of the National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW) 2022 celebration.
The discussion aims to promote public awareness and wider reach on the welfare and development programs of BJMP; recruitment; initiatives done with regards to preventing and countering violent extremism ; and best practices of the Jail Bureau both for the Persons Deprived of Liberty and the community at large.
The event also featured testimonial stories from the school’s alumni who are now members of the Jail Bureau; and a photobooth set up by the team at the venue where everyone had their photos taken and printed instantly.
Two hundred twenty-seven (227) students from the College of Criminal Justice participated in the said event .
Present also were Atty. Manuel Elijah T. Sarausad, Executive Vice Chancellor; Mr. Cydar Oraiz of UC Cares and other faculty members & staff who were very accomodating with the Jail Bureau’s endeavor.
