Bicol business week opens today

NAGA CITY (30 August 2005) -- The 1st Bicol Business Week sponsored by the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), in partnership with the city government opens today, at the Civic Center here.

Revolving on the theme “Make it Bicol”, the weeklong regional business activity will showcase and promote Bicol’s best of businesses and provide investment opportunities that will spur the economic growth and development of the region.

MNCCI president Nicolas Beda Priela said it will serve as venue for business matching/networking and updates on the recent technology and product trends.

Priela added that aside from its highlight on the best of Bicol’s products, construction, ICT, inventors, jobs, agri-aqua exhibits and fairs, conferences and fora will be conducted simultaneously with the other activities.

“Over 2,000 participants, exhibitors and guests are expected to attend and participate from local chambers of commerce and industry, local government units, private sectors, academe, government and non-government organizations supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).”

Lined-up likewise are the Bicol Skills Summit, Technology Transfer and Investment Forum and the Bicol Businessmen’s Symposium.

The Bicol Businessmen’s Symposium set September 3 at the Naga Regent Hotel will delve on important topics on Agri-Aqua, ICT, Construction. Historical Perspective on Business will be presented and discussed by business experts from the different sectors

The recognition and awards of the “Prominent Bicolano Business Icons” after the symposium will be the culminating activity of the Bicol Business Week. (PIA)
