This is shocking news. One of the key witnesses in the Maguindanao Massacre has been found dismembered and placed inside a sack.
That witness was Esmail Amil Enog. According to reports, Enog was reported missing last March after he testified in court last year. He testified for having a role in the massacre and said the Ampatuans, a powerful political clan in Southern Philippines, were behind the killings. According to prosecutor Nena Santos, the body was placed inside a sack but was already chopped up, probably by chainsaw. They said they will not be mentioning other names of witnesses to protect them from possible death.
According to Enog’s testimony, he was the Ampatuan’s employee in Mindanao and he was the one who drove a group of armed men faithful to Ampatuan to a site where they abducted 57 victims. The Maguindanao Massacre was a shocking event in 2009 which got worldwide attention. As of now, 64 people are on trial in Manila, which includes the heads of the Ampatuan clan. But hundreds more are still fugitives from the law and are currently being pursued.
