For all the headaches a government official is embracing upon being elected into office, did you ever wonder how much they make in a month?  Why spend hundreds of millions for only a yearly salary not exceeding 1 million pesos for the top post of President of the archipelago?  

Does that mean they all steal?  Or all for the service of the country? Sense of nationalism? "Give something back to the country"?  And yet some senators are so pompous and arrogant at shouting at citizens in their blue ribbon inquiries, forgetting that they are there at the service of the Filipino people.  Anyway…….. here are their salaries as of 2001.

The table below shows the salary schedule for government employees effective July 1, 2001. With the exception of the president, each position pays a range of salaries from Step 1 being the entry-level amount to Step 8 as the highest amount a particular position can get. The table only shows Step 1 and Step 8 for comparison purposes. The listings are not in any particular order.

Well, these are their official salaries only.  The benefits must be good.

wa na sila magsalig sa sweldo... if i remember it right, a senator has access to 500 million pesos nga mostly dili kinahanglan nga i-audit. tan-awa nang magsuon nga cayetano they are holding on to a budget of 1 billion pesos. hunahunaa nga wa pod na silay delicadeza kay panguhaon nga staff mga paryente ra para ang kwarta adto ra nila maglibot-libot.

ang congressman has access to 70 million pesos pork barrel wa pay labot kon dunay committee chairmanships. know the personnel of your congressman.

and yes, stop calling it PDAF or whatever, it is essentially pork barrel. it is disgusting. they are legislators not executives. their work is to make laws and ensure they are implemented (oversight function).

they are not there to have projects like multipurpose building, computers, etcetera. haciendero mentality na, unya kitang mga constituents morag mga saop maghuwat tagaag grasya. inig hatag morag ginoo na na sila para nato. dont believe me? just read on the threads on the candidates and read what their supporters are saying. morag gasalig na sa ilang pangabuhian sa ilang mga kandidato.

i guess,  kanang governor, BM mura mana depende pilay kita sa probensya the same pud ma apply sa mga mayor kay ang mayor sa Tagbilaran city mas dako man iyang salary income than sa mayor sa Baclayon...Same thing sad sa governor sa Cebu mas dako ug sweldo kaysa governor sa bohol...Pero nagsunod guihapon ni sila sa mga grade salary...

as far as i know, ang mga cities nga classified as highly urbanized city lang ang mag depende sa kita nila. pero kadtong ordinary city lang, pareha lang na sila as 1st class municipality. that goes the same sa mga governors, same set of salary given. ang magdiffer lang is the funds for their offices as it really depends on the income of the province or municipality. the more income the municipality can give, the more IRA share they will get thus more funds for them.

im not just sure if this is really true but so far this is what i consistently hear from people connected to LGU's.

An Engineer in the Philippines makes 14-20 thousand pesos a month? That is equivalent to $350 - $500 a month. In the United States, an Engineer can make around $80,000 - $150,000 a year , which is equivalent to 3.2 Million to 6 Million pesos a year.

No wonder why there are a lot of Pinoy Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, here in the USA.
