Calape Town Leaders Praise Atty. Edgar M. Chatto
True to his monicker as “WARM,†Rep. Edgar Chatto got most recent unsolicited praises from no less than the leaders of the town of his gubernatorial rival Vice. Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera.
They admired Chatto, who is the leading aspirant for Bohol governor, for his commitment to public service.
Calape Mayor Sulpicio Yu, Jr. generously described Chatto as a “dynamic and workaholic†First District congressman and Bohol leader during a poverty alleviation assembly attended by the cross-section of the community.
Chatto figures out as a “WARM†leader. “WARM†means “Willing, Able, Ready, Moving.â€
Barangay leaders hailed the last-termer solon for supporting their development projects and service programs regardless of partisan color and without political condition.
Also, they found Chatto to be a politician who lets his work dedication and sterling character speak for his politics.
They said his worthy qualities largely differentiate him from candidates who deceive people by fabricating issues against their contenders obviously for their less achievements or failure to meet the people’s standard of best leader.
Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Regional Director Andres Bojo, who happened to be in the same Calape affair, thanked Chatto for upgrading the status of the former Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT) into a state university.
The Boholano vice chairman of the education committee in Congress principally authored the law converting the CSVSCAFT, which has campuses in Calape and five other Bohol sites, into the now Bohol Island State University, the first and only of its kind in this part of the country.
Bojo is confident of BISU’s critical role in regaining the interest among the young people in agriculture and related technologies, including agro-fishery-ecotourism enterprises like mariculture parks.
Simply stated, a mariculture park is an enhanced aquaculture site for better production of fish and other water food resources while potentially drawing tourists.
Thus, Bojo said, the mariculture park can offer both food for the stomach and food for the sight, making agriculture, fishery and eco-tourism compliment each other.
Apart from the BISU LAW, Chatto also principally authored in Congress the legislative milestone National Tourism Act of 2009
Meanwhile, leading 1st District congressional bet ex-Gov. Rene Relampagos cited the framing of the sustainable development agenda and the vision, mission and goal for Bohol among the legacies he and Chatto left in serving as then governor and vice governor.
Bohol had long then no development masterplan until their capitol tandem laid the drawing board and set the vision for Bohol as a prime eco-cultural tourism destination and a balanced agro-industrial province.
