LOOK! Governor Nelson Dayanghirang met earlier today with top executives of the Green Power Development Corporation of Japan, headed by Principal CEO Gen Kimitsuka and Consultant Jose Dante Mara.

The Japanese investors discussed with the Governor their intention of putting up a processing plant for whole coconut in the province. Based on the company’s proposal, they intend to supply coconut seedlings to farmers and buy whole coconut from them. They also intend to lease land, particularly in the ancestral lands, to put up processing plant, of which the Governor advised them to enter into an agreement with the Indigenous People’s communities.

To address the power needed to operate the plant, the company express its intent to explore putting up hydro and solar power.

The company is set to meet with the mayors of the different municipalities to discuss the business prospect. Governor Dayanghirang said that this is a welcome development for the province as he assured his full support to the investment opportunity that will help his constituents, especially the coconut farmers.
