A candidate for governor and congressman in the first district were among the first to file their certificates of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections.
A certain Jetor Torres Ramada from barangay Tagbuane, Albur town filed his candidacy for governor while Mario Magat, Jr. of Mansasa district, this city, is running for congressman in the first district.
Both are running as independent bets.
The two added to the list of early registrants at the office of Prov'l Comelec Supervisor Eliseo Lavaria.
The first to file was Dr. Mutya Tirol Macuno who is running for provincial board member. She is the eldest daughter of former Gov. David Tirol and BM Amalia Tirol who is running for mayor in the town of Ubay.
The fourth to file his COC was international mariner Norberto Mendez, Jr. who is running for city councilor under the slate of Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso.
Meanwhile, Comelec offices will be opened today and tomorrow, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., even if tomorrow is a holiday.
These offices will accept COCs until Tuesday midnight which is the last day of filing. - The Bohol Chronicle
