Did P-Noy watch ex-girlfriend Shalani Soledad’s TV debut on the game show “Willing Willie” Monday night? Whether he did or not, he had one wish for her—that she would find “true happiness.”

Asked Monday afternoon—hours before the show came on—if he planned on watching it, President Benigno Aquino III gave a long-winded reply that meant “maybe”: “Depends on how much material I will be given tonight to study. I have only two and half days to prepare for my trip to Japan.”

Mr. Aquino is set to leave this weekend to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Yokohama.

In any case, he seemed well-briefed on the latest about the pretty councilor from Valenzuela City, who has broken into show business. She is co-hosting the new TV5 production headlined by Willie Revillame, former colleague of the President’s sister, Kris Aquino, in ABS-CBN.

In a chance interview after an event at the Palace, P-Noy managed a brief message, if a tad too formal, for Soledad: “[It seems she] is looking at it as a perspective to broaden her ability to serve her constituents. The downside in being in show business, hopefully, will be very mitigated or non-existing.”

“We wish her really well,” he said.

The 50-year-old bachelor split up with Soledad recently.
