Malacañang on Tuesday defended the appointments of singer Ogie Alcasid and Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Conrado de Quiros to the EDSA People Power Commission, saying the two have the trust of President Benigno Aquino III.
Radyo Inquirer quoted presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda as saying that the administration trusts Alcasid to help the youth remember and appreciate the EDSA People Power, which put Aquino’s mother, Corazon, into the presidency.
The report said Alcasid will be a “big instrument†to the youth with his appointment as convenor of the music and entertainment sector.
Malacañang also cited the importance of de Quiros, despite his earlier criticisms of the Cory administration. - pdi
