Twenty-five Lakas town Mayor's bolted from they're political party to join the nationlista party under presidentual timber Senator Manuel Villar.

The merger of the two biggest political parties Lakas and Kampi in the country may not hold here in the province as majority of town mayor's have been sworn in last Sunday to the re-organized
Nationalista Party of Senator Villar.

UNO spokesman quits, joins Villar party

MANILA, Philippines â€“ The spokesman of the United Opposition (UNO) has bolted the coalition and joined the Nacionalista Party (NP) as he threw his support for NP President Manuel Villarâ€™s presidential bid in 2010.

Lawyer Adel Tamano, who intends to run for Senator in 2010, took his oath before Villar on Thursday.

â€œMy father, the late Senator Tamano is a founder of Nacionalista Party. To honor his memory I joined the partyâ€ said Tamano.

â€œI think Manny Villar is the man to beatâ€¦ the biggest reason is this man was able to rise from poverty, the country's biggest problem. And it will take someone who has experience and who can find solutions for poverty,â€ he added.

Villar said Tamano would be a great asset to the NP. He said the NP was open to other candidates who wanted to join the party.

He said many mayors joined the NP last month.

Tamano said former president Joseph Estrada and UNO president Jejomar Binay accepted his decision to transfer to Villarâ€™s party.

â€œNagpaalam ako ng maayos kay Erap [I bade Estrada goodbye] and we talked for three hours. He respected my decision,â€ he said.

â€œNow I can speak as Adel Tamano and not just a spokesmanâ€ he added.

Earlier in the day, Binay said he was saddened by Tamano's decision.

The news came out in last weds, Bohol chronicle and was written by Kit Bagaipo the senior writer for the publication.

At the time i had posted this topic Kit had not given me permission to put his name on the by-line. Yesterday i had informed him that i had postes a part of his write up and he has given me permission to say it is his write up.

I also informed our gate keeper last night over buko and soup that Kit would like to have his name be added to the by lines from now on.

I hope everyone is clear on what I am saying.

Social revolution ang atong gikinahanglan karon. Meaning sa social revolution is attitude or character change sa matag usa kanatong mga Pilipino.

Mag sugod kini sa matag usa kanato, to be a more ethical self. With this change in every individual, all good things will follow.

Since Pinoys are 90% catholics, the church plays a big role/influence in this change and not our politicians.

your so right, about your statement, but the intersting thing is that I have been noticing more Philippine persons losing touch with Catholicism and making choices of other faiths on their own.

Iam thinking in about 5 ore years the 90% could go down to even 75% unless the catholics can start making more practical changes and start helping out instead of doing what is the opposite.

I have a new saying; Why are catholics so against abortion but yet they just walk past kids with famine and starvation and homelessness in the streets?

Speaking of abortion, protection of life from natural conception to natural death is a non-debatable issue. It's natural law. Ginoo ray dunay prerogative ana. On the other hand, wars, poverty, unemployment, social justice, capital punishments, etc are... The Church speaks on these issues, too, of course, based on Christ's teaching, as understood by her.

The job of being good and loving (helping) one another is not ONLY the responsibilty of the Church as an institution... Christ's great commission (ang SUGO) is for all of us who claim to be His (Christians)!!! And the Church is not lacking in teaching, examplifying & leading the way; it's only perception that you think it's otherwise (because you don't know better). That's what we do, we judge by what we see (but what we see is never a complete version hehehe)

When I was young (during my idealistic age) I would have opt for social revolution as in change the system. As I've gotten older (and hopefully, wiser), I tend to believe in inner change as the only feasible way, like you said (attitude and character change). I'm more into the wisdom of the old, whoever came up with them. Like the song said, "Let peace begin with me" if we want to have peace... or, "charity begins at home" (with self)... much like Christ said "metanoia," we must have a change of heart and/or inner transformation..." if we want to make a difference! Let's end all condemnation, accusations, judging and blaming others for the things we haven't done ourselves!!! Hehehe!!! You can stone me if this is wrong!!!

Some say Gloria could declare Martail Law?

I think in Tagbilaran our lovely city government has already been practicing that with putting out so many businesses and theyre owners as well as not issueing permits what a true shame as jobs provide livllihood for employees and they're families.

Then instead of having presidency some say philippines could make Gloria into a Prime Minister instead of a president!

Or some even say that Philippines would run on a parliamant system in other words!

Tagbilaranos are already pre conditioned either way from the look and feel of things in the Capitol city.

Don't be so quick to judge the Filipinos and their Catholic Faith, or for Catholics in that matter. One thing I can fullheartedly say about the Filipino is our strong sense of moral decency, and our quickness to forgive. Sure, there will be clamor, but generally as a whole, the Filipino people are a forgiving bunch. Even the situation with Hayden Kho, for 2-3 weeks it was an issue, but eventually the interest has died down and the people have forgiven him for his own actions. That is his matter and God will handle that in his own accord.

As for the Filipino rationale towards abortion, this is not only a Filipino aspect, friend. This is a moral and ethical decision. It is either you are for death or you are for life. Common, and absolutely simple.

We live in a culture of death--a we do. And for an individual to take up the stand and defend life--and the protection of life--life that is so innocent--it says alot.

Abortion is legal and utilized here in the United States, and has it really solved the problem? No, abortion and what not is just another 'option' for indiiduals who live such care-free lives. The notion of not worrying about using protection in sex can be countered with the option of just "getting rid of it" in the abortionist's clinic.

Some individuals even have the audacity to refer to a child in the womb as "It". Outrageous. Then again it doesn't surprise me--considering the culture of Death we live in.

The abandonment of Christian Virtue and morals, and the acceptance of Sin and embracement of sin and all its vices---that is the problem in society.

And as poor as the Filipino are--as simple as they are as compared to the more affluent societies such as the United States, Canada etc. There are less incidences of murder and shooting in the Philippines than say here in the United States. Suicide is a growing phenomenon here in the USA. Homicides and the like. Fare more in comparison to Philippines--which is a 3rd world nation. Surprisingly.

The United States is an uber secularized nation. It was a nation founded under Christian Ideals and Morals. Now, there individuals who are calling to repudiate the notion of 'God' in the United States constitituion, in schools, in courtrooms etc.

To completely deface the very foundation of this country. It is abhoric. We are losing our own identity.

As for the Philippines---i find it so charismatic that the Filipino still is so very CHRISTIAN. Even to this day. The youth are still so very CATHOLIC, CHRISTIAN, GOD FEARING. Majority of the Filipinos--that is.

Here in the US, most kids swear in God's name. They attack Christ, many join cults and occults, accepting aethiesm. All of which offer no upstanding moral guidance at all.

Catholicism and Christianity is a solid basis for Morality, Judgment and Law.

The Catholic Church has always stood by for the defense of human life and the unborn since the foundation of the Church in the 1st Century AD during Pentecost Sunday.

And it will not change. Not until the coming of Christ Our Lord. Until then, the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, has a job to do. And that is to continue to preach TRUTH.

Even if some people don't like to hear it or disagree. The Church will continue to preach. As it has done so for the past 2 THOUSAND Years.

It cannot be defeated, you see. Christ HIMSELF told Peter that not even the gates of hell could overpower the Christian Catholic Church.

It is safe to say that men who have tried to destroy and break the Catholic Church themselves--and their own selves have been stroyed. Faded away. While the Church--May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless and Keep His annointed Church: The Holy Roman Catholic Church--the church that was founded by the works of Paul and Blessed Peter the Apostle under charge of Christ!

Men such as Voltaire, such as Marx, men such as Lenin, Stalin, men such as Robespierre, men with great thought yet fastidiously attacked the Roman Catholic Church are no longer here.

Nietzsche, a famous psychologist/ psychiatrist, once said, "God is Dead. Religion is poison--the opiate of the masses."

I can confidently say that Nietzsche is the one that is wrong. As Nietzsche is--himself--Dead. Let alone his old notions of psychological law have been reupidated by modern thinkers in psychiatric/psychological science. Same thing for Marx and Lenin. Both of whom attacked Catholicism and Christian Virtues that Catholic Church has defended and procreated for the span of 2000 years---to which Salvation has been brought to many parts of the Globe.

Now where is Lenin? Dead. Where is Marx ? Dead. Communism--the political concept that was idealized by Lenin is a fallen and dead concept. Not even the Chinese utilize Communist thought--as they have already embraced Capitalism---which is ironically the antithesis of pure communist thought.

The Catholic Church has survived storms in its history--from the protestant wars, to the reformation, to the heresies committed by many. It continues to stand. And it cannot be defeated nor can it be destroyed.

Christ HIMSELF declared to Peter, who is the ROCK of the Catholic Church---that not even the gates of Hell can conquor and overpower the Church.

So, naturally, we are confident--to the teachings we have been given and to which we PROCLAIM. Because it is TRUTH. The Spirit of Truth that has been with us since our Baptism.

naa gihapon. ang mga lim bitaw sa valencia, bohol, they've been in public service for more than twenty years pero wa jud na sila mudawat ug sweldo.

ang SOP pud usually didto mudong sa bulsa sa mga govt officials kay ideduct na sa contract price para makabarato ang municipal government sa ilang mga purhases/acquisitions.
