The fear of leading vice presidential candidate and Makati Mayor Jejomar “Jojo†Binay on possible rigging of the results of the 2010 vice presidential race is impossible due to the transparency of the automated election system, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.
“There’re no special operations because our system is very transparent,†Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said.
“In fact, we are able to detect even the minor errors. If there are moves to subvert the system, they have to make sure that they won’t get caught. As of now, I don’t see such moves,†he added.
Jimenez said Binay can “sleep soundly†if he really believes that he is the winner of the VP race.
“The one who got the most number of votes, will win,†he said.
