I hope the city can facilitate the creation of smaller medical clinics throughout the rural regions of Tagbilaran as well as solicit the Governor of Bohol and the Provincial Treasurer to create smaller clinics in the rural areas of Bohol. It is evident of the stagnancy of the medical situation in dealing with Dengue in Bohol and the loss of life every year due to the distance of the current hospitals from the victim and the victim's family (regarding the difficulty of transportation, etc).
Dengue is incurable (as the virus cannot be treated by anti-virals; it is too mutative and nullifies any anti-viral's effects); however the only way to assess the patient is to provide immediate Medical aid, which is:
1. Massive and constant hydration
2. Pain medication
3. Proper vitamins; the assistance of the immune system is primary; as it is the patient's immune system that battles the virus
4. Proper nutrition etc
These are key things that needs to be taken into consideration. Dozens of Boholano children fall prey to Dengue. Why should the youth and elderly be allowed to suffer when prevention, and emergency treatment is possible?
Reasons why we should instigate the growth of local rural clinical centers:1. Bohol's population continues to grow; and as the people continue to move and build homes in formerly swamp land; festive mosquito ridden areas; there will be a growth in Dengue-related incidents.
2. Public Health. Dengue, syphilis, cholera etc are all public health concerns and are all preventable, given the proper finances and administration is secured. It is the prime concern of the Bohol Provincial directors and provincial government to assess this condition; the lives and safety of citizens are at stake.
3. Attraction. Foreigners do not like to hear cases of 'Dengue' etc, considering these are things that have been 'wiped out' or 'assessed' in Western Nations. Here in the United States, Dengue has been properly assessed; considering the prevalence of medical clinics in urban, sub-urban and rural regions. Same applies to western nations with heightened medical systems and status. The 'Health' of Bohol and the Boholano people attracts foreign investments, foreign patronage etc. In all reality, the province and city should invest in anti-dengue initiatives for both Boholanos and foreigners that are and 'thinking' about living and retiring in the province. Mutual Relationship.
4. Progression.
Thanks. Please take this into heavy consideration. Thank You.
