China has denied its forces are
preparing for war with the Philippines as tensions rise over a disputed territory in the South China Sea.
Ships from both countries have confronted each other for more than a month in the Scarborough Shoal area, with both sides accused of intruding into territorial waters.
China has warned the Philippines military conflict could follow, but its defence ministry said reports that its forces had entered a state of "war preparedness" were untrue.
