Cebu bizmen tired of political drama in Congress
Cebu City (31 August) -- Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) president Robert Go said local businessmen are sick and tired of the melodramatic and highly televised telenovela in Congress referring to yesterday's walkout by opposition solons during the hearing of the impeachment complaint against Pres. Arroyo.

Go said the walkout by pro-impeachment solons is not a good gesture and creates a politically chaotic image of the country that could further derail our economic backlog as this could turn off foreign investors.

Any move to impeach the President should be done according to the rule of law since charges of election fraud and other offenses deem impeachable allegedly committed by the President have yet to be proven, Go added.

Go further said the local business community wants to close the book on the political drama frequently unfolding at the Lower House so that we could pick up the pieces and move on. It's time to start rebuilding businesses and reviving our slump economy because this is the only way to improve the lives of the Filipino people, of which majority are wallowing in deep poverty, the businessman stressed.

Because of the political circus in Manila that is constantly highlighted in media, Go said he expects a bleaker economic forecast that would drag on until the 4th quarter, this year.

Go advised the opposition to stop their political maneuvering just to impeach the President at all costs even beyond constitutional means. If they want to change the President, then let us wait for the next elections, Go ended.

Meanwhile, Cebu Municipal Mayors' League (CMML) president Mayor Ronald Alan Cesante disclosed that all town mayors in the province have pledged their full support to the President following the impeachment rap filed against her.

Cesante said municipal mayors in Cebu are hoping that the political situation in Manila will return back to normal as soon as possible. (PIA-7)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
