Prepare for the worst,
bring sunblock on Election Day.
This was the reminder of an official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to the electorate as they troop to the various polling precincts on May 10.
Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez, director of the Comelec’s Education and Information Department, said voters should prepare for the worst by bringing sunblock lotion especially since they might have to contend with long queues.
The poll official issued the statement after the poll watchdog group, Automated Election System Watch (AES Watch), called on the public to prepare for the worst, saying the Comelec failed to prepare for the first-ever nationwide automated elections in the country.
“We are now left with declaring to the public that Comelec has indeed failed the people… We now call on the people to prepare for the worst, guard the vote, and keep our vigilance high!†said the AES Watch in a statement.
