Printed By the Bohol ChronicleBohol Vice Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera yesterday refused to comment on his political plans in 2010 saying he has better things to do than prepare for the next election.
"It is too early for that," Herrera replied when interviewed over his mobile phone.
The vice-governor was in his native Calape in time for this year's observance of the annual fiesta. Before his election as vice-governor, Herrera served as Calape mayor for two terms.
Political pundits have been speculating that the vice-governor was ripe to assume the highest position in the province after serving the second highest position for three consecutive terms.
The speculations were fuelled even more when Herrera received a 61% satisfactory rating in a survey conducted by the Holy Name University last April 13-20.
This rating hiked by eight percentage points the 53% satisfactory rating he received in the same survey last year.
Herrera's eight-percent increase in his performance rating was the highest among Boholano officials named in the poll.
The vice-governor however did not directly answer questions on whether this would encourage him to reveal his political plans.
"I am humbled that our people are appreciating the job that we are doing. This will encourage me to work harder in the next two years," he added.
