Raqueal this is where many people go wrong when making statements such as he is not a Catholic..So what!
I have seen this as a pretty darn discriminating country myself when I see requirements for job hirings the latest one to be a was a total blow to the Catholics in where the requirement of the job applicant if female is to submit a pregnancy test before she is considered to be hired???

Oh my goodness doesn't the church teach against syntthetic birth controls, doesn't the church say to be come fruitful and many......What is the church doing to businesses who have such hiring requirements isn't it not going against the church to not hire someone if they are buntis?
I am not a Catholic and many are the same as I am but it does not mean we do not have good qualities. No one is perfect no matter what religeon one may be.

JellyBean you don't understand my whole point here.We are talking about the three candidates. Bet you don't understand the video either. In the video the three candidate was ask if they will support the school run by catholic. Now I am referring to Mr. Montano who happen to be non catholic. I said I really feel for him because he is not catholic. It is very insensitive question for someone like him.
Reread and understand the whole topic first before you throw rants on Catholic church. We don't care about your fiancee getting pregnant. This is politics thread.

Gastudy ba kaha Ning Mater Dei nga si Cesar Montano dili Catholic. I feel bad for him dihang ang question bahin sa school nga catholic school.
JellyBean I think this is the thread you are referring about me saying not Catholic. I said in here that I wonder if the Mater Dei College had done their homework. Mr. Montano is non Catholic and I feel bad for him being asked if he will continue to support the scholarship program for Catholic church.
If you wanna bash more about the Catholic church go ahead start another thread in religion forum.

Yes. but that is why being a good Christian is all about mao ba we must accept and go on and support even things we may not be full beleivers in ourself.

Here it is all about Catholic as if other religeons are crap, and to me it is non Godly to discriminate against others because they are not a Catholic, Mormon, Babtist...etc it sounds so cultish to even bring up one politicians beleifs about religeon or even where he stands with religeon.

Even you said yourself before that the Catholic church is doing more in the states to help out the needy and may we add also helps the non-Catholics as well who need help.

Many Catholics complain that the church (the dominating one) should be helping the poor instead it is taking from the poor.

Drive by causeway near to Macjak and see all the barefooted and soiled clothed candle vendors begging passer by for money so that they can eat.....What about a church run food drive or even a clothes drive to make these people be more clean and healthy looking so they can also feel better about themselves.

Doesn't the Catholic church care about the people who are making money for them by selling candles. I am a mouth I just say what I see. It has nothing to do with bashing it should be that the dominat religeon should really be more perceptive and realistic and do more for the people here.

Look at some other churches here they have many youth activities happening here now a days, these kids who are changing religeon are more happier it seems as they are not on the streets all tatterd and torn and soiled how the Catholic poor children are being represented.

These other churches are being brought in by Westerners who have the descency enough to say hey wait a minute.... and teach people in the right caring sense.

Do not take it personally instead if your member of the Catholic church please prove to those of us how it is helping people here who are followers and the sisters and brothers who need the help more than others.

Another way of proving your faith is to show us how involved you all are in serving the God's poor from your church. Some of you may be big beleivers in the dominate faith here but...ahem where are the community church vollunteer hours to help the less fortunante people here?

Catholics these days are paying attention to the bad things versus what are the good things to be done. Many are afraid to suggest to the church on ways how they could offer help why should Catholics be ashamed to offer or be involved with organizing help for the needy?

Most good services for people are not being done for the needy by Catholics it is the newwer religeons that are coming in here to help ppeople who need help.

Religeous persons need not to discriminate they need to rehabilitate in all aspects of life and work together. OoPsy! off topic again.

I think you misunderstood me here. I am actually depending Montano because they put him on the spot when he was ask if he will continue to support the catholic schools. I know he feel very uneasy about the question since he is non-catholic.
You are right about how people especially the catholic church in philippines discriminate most of the needy. I know what you are talking about. I meet lot's Mormons and some Missionary in Bohol and I try my best to be friendly to them make them all feel welcome but seems like most people back home never even bother to smile and talk.

I know you yourself would like to see the churches here help more.

Many people want Montano for governor. I think it will be a tight contest between Montana and chatto.

I am also not trying to hurt anyone I just want to have people look at it in how others see what is really going on over here.

"Flying voters" involved in on-line
survey exposed

In a bid to improve the rank of their favored bets in the local elections, a widely circulated "instruction slip" asked people to used several email addressed in order to vote repeatedly.

This scheme was known when a copy of the slip reached the studios of station dyRD last Friday narrating the "technical guide", including the specific instructions saying "so as not to waste our votes if we are to send the text again, resend the text vote after a lapse of time. Also, multiple sim number are encouraged."

With this scheme done, a person can vote as many times as he can thereby creating an effect of having "flying voters" in the on-line survey.

The instruction slip specified that senders should cast their votes to Julius Herrera for governor and Tomas Abapo, jr. for vice governor.

The same slip spceified the instruction to use public computers at computer cafes or shops for multiple votes.

PRECAUTION DONE

The on-line survey at the website of dyRD instituted measures that votes cast from the same senders will be rejected in the computer system so as to maintain the credibility of the survey.

During the past two weeks, the trending showed the people's preference for governor, vice governor, congressmen, city mayor and city vice mayor.

However, because of this advisory to register more votes for their favored candidates, the results are expected to shift from the previous trend.

In the Jan 17 tally, Rep. Edgar Chatto maintained his lead over Vice Gov. Julius Herrera in the gubernatorial race. Out of the 230 respondents, Chatto garnered 103 votes (45%) followed by Cesar Montano with 72 votes (31%) and Herrera, third with 55 votes (24%)

After reports on the massive "instructional campaign" for Herrera and Abapo got implemented, the results as of 7:30pm last night showed a sudden shift giving Herrera the lead over Chatto.

Out of 654 respondents, Herrera ranked first with 365 votes (55%), Chatto, 198 votes (30%) and Montano, 100 votes (15%)

In the vice gubrnatorial race, Abapo ranked first with 328 votes (62%), Concepcion Lim, 114 votes (21%) and Elpidio jala, 90 votes (17%).

ADVISORY

In order to serve the purpose of the on-line survey, dyRD News & Public Affairs advised the public not to resort to "flying voting," meaning one sender should vote only once.

Casting more than one vote for each sender will only create an unrealistic survey result which will not serve the purpose of the candidates to monitor the real preference and trend of the voters.

UPDATES

In the 1st district congressional race, City Kagawad Oscar Glovasa pooled 285 votes (57%) against former Gov Rene Relampagos with 188 votes (37%) and Edgar Kapirig, 30 votes (6%) Gov. Erico aumentado continued to lead in the 2nd district congressional race with 348 votes (73%) followed by Trinidad Mayor Judith Cajes, 99 votes 21%), Andy manated and Danilo mendez with 16 votes each (3%)
In the city mayoralty race, Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso maintained lead over Mayor Dan Lim with 223 votes (53%) against 200 votes (47%) while in the city vice mayoralty race, Barangay Captain Glorivic Yap-dela Serna with 248 votes (56%) against former Vice Mayor Nuevas Montes, 195 votes (44%).
